Edward Hyde Burdick, of Rye, NY died September 5th. Born in Chicago in 1935, Mr. Burdick lived in Larchmont for 47 years as well as Philadelphia, Detroit, Brooklyn and Wilmington, North Carolina. Mr. Burdick graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1953 and from Cornell in 1957 with a BS in mechanical engineering. A distinguished military student, he served in the US Army Reserve. In 1964 Mr. Burdick graduated from Harvard Business School with an MBA.
Mr. Burdick briefly worked for the Air Reduction Company. In 1968 he began a 28-year career working for the Rockefeller family office, retiring in 1995 as president of its Wayfarer Ketch Corporation. Mr. Burdick is survived by his wife, Margaret MacCallum Burdick, sons Andy (Sarah) and Ted (Aileen), sisters Barbara Gallagher and Jane Burdick and seven grandchildren.
