Martha Louise Jones (nee Faulkner), 83, of Peterborough, N.H. died at home surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday (10-24-2009). Marty was born in Keene, N.H. on November 22, 1925 the daughter of Philip and Katherine (Kingsbury) Faulkner. She grew up in Keene, NH and Miami, FL. She graduated from the Massachusetts General Hospital Nursing School, and in 1947 married Douglas A. Jones.
Marty lived in Northfield, MA from 1949 to 2006 and worked for many years in various capacities at Northfield Mt. Hermon School, nurse, switchboard operator, alumni office, and Dean’s office. Doug was head of the Art Department from 1949 until his death in 1980. Upon her retirement, Marty enjoyed traveling, puzzles, knitting, needlepoint, volunteering at the Dickinson Library in Northfield, friends and family.
She is survived by two sons: Stephen of Peterborough, NH and Thomas and his wife Diane Van Deuson of Glenburn, ME, and one daughter: Katherine Jones and her husband William Faller of Temple, NH. Marty is also survived by her brother, Philip A. Faulkner Jr. and his wife Patricia of Keene, NH and two sisters: Ann F. Jacobs and her husband Carl, of Peterborough, NH and Jocelyn Bolle and her husband James of Harrisville, NH Four Grandchildren: John and Gwendolyn Jones, and Samuel and Tess Faller. She was predeceased by a brother Francis Faulkner.
A memorial Service will be held at a time to be announced. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Northfield, MA at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
